I have over 40 years of experience as an Accountant. My specialty is in helping organisations improve their bottom line through the disciplines of accounting services, bookkeeping services and financial management.
I have a substantial background in servicing my own client accounts. My experience is grounded in years of practice as a Chartered Accountant for various accounting firms. I have assisted many organisations with their fiscal challenges in my capacity as a contract accountant.
Over the course of my career, I have played a pivotal role in the success of over 20 organisations spanning three different countries.
In Sydney Australia, as a Contract Accountant, I have improved the operations of organisations across the hospitailty and manufacturing industries. I have executed bookkeeping services, stock counts, produced fixed asset registers and general reconciliations. I prepared books for auditors, the BAS, Payroll Tax and FBT. I served as the acting Financial Manager for a well known watch manufacturer, fulfilling year end audit requirements (including tax requirements). I worked at a manufacturer of energy components, where I updated policies and procedures for the MYOB system and designed the monthly reporting systems for sales.
In New Zealand, I helped a large food producer integrate a new acquisition into the broader company group.
In South Africa, I was the Financial and Administration Manager of a large multinational Audit Practice . I contributed to their success by setting up a sophisticated system for the allocation of annual profits. The system catered for all the idiosyncrasies of an intricate partnership arrangement with many tax complications. I established budgets and saved the company millions of dollars by rectifying bad accounting practices.
I was the Financial Manager for a manufacturer of electrical products. I helped ease the pressure off severely strained company resources. I did this by establishing a MRP system and a monthly production and buying plan. I introduced a costing system for the manufacture of the products. I established a cash management and forecast system to successfully control an extremely tight cash position. I successfully amalgamated two companies accounting requirements.
I held the position of Financial Director of a publicly held healthcare technology organisation, where I was the key person involved in the preparation and negotiations needed to list the company on the stock exchange. I played an instrumental role in the in management of loss making division and subsequently turned this division around to profitability through improved accounting and management reporting systems.
Based in Sydney, I am a pleasant, good humoured “people person” with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. I have exceptional business acumen and analytical skills. I am passionate about improving my clients' bottom-line and I have a vested interest in my clients’ success.
